PHOENIX -- Phoenix police are investigating a homicide at a home near 35th Avenue and Broadway Road.
Officers were called to the scene early Monday evening.
One man was found shot to death. Phoenix police say he did not live at the home where he was killed, but his girlfriend and her two adult sons live there.
Police said that earlier in the day, the victim borrowed a key to go into the house. At one point witnesses reported seeing the victim enter the home with two Hispanic males, but said those two men later left the house without the victim.
When the victim's girlfriend's two adult sons returned home from work at around 6 p.m., they found the victim dead of a gunshot wound.
One of those sons spoke to 3TV off-camera. He said the victim had been dating his mom for a little over a year and that the victim was like family.
Police said there is no obvious motive for this killing.
"We don't know necessarily what the victim may have been involved in that would have precipitated these events," said Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos. "Primarily at this point our hope is to identify these two individuals."
