PHOENIX -- Monday afternoon we had a lot of thunderstorms in Arizona, but most of them were in the northern half of the state. We also had numerous storms in eastern and southeast Arizona. There’s a chance we’ll see some storms around the Valley overnight, sort of like we’ve seen the past couple of nights, with storms getting close, but not really getting into the metro area.
The hot weather will continue as well. We're forecasting 110 for highs both Tuesday and Wednesday.
Toward the end of the week, there are some signs that a bit more moisture will be headed into the state. That, combined with the hot weather, should produce an increase in thunderstorms statewide, but mostly in western Arizona. By the weekend, we are seeing chances for rain around the Valley in the 20 to 30 percent range.
