PHOENIX -- The polar jet stream will stay well to the north of Arizona. As a result, we’re looking for mild weather around the Valley for Friday through Sunday. Expect some highs clouds at times but highs should reach into the 80s each day.
Another storm system is due in early next week, and again early indications are it’s not very moist. As a result, while we’re fairly certain will see a big drop in temperatures by Wednesday, the chance for precipitation remains low for metro Phoenix. There is a better chance for snow in eastern Arizona this time around, but again, no major prospects as of this update.
Also, as October ends we can tell you that (unofficially) the month will end up cooler than normal. The National Weather Service will issue its report on Friday, but it will say the average high for October 2013 was about 87.5 degrees and the average low was about 62. That’s below average! Part of the reason? We had NO triple digit high temperatures in the month of October, which is a bit unusual.
