VALLEYWIDE -- Mother Nature is taking aim at Arizona after slapping at Chandler Monday evening.

Plan on a high of 101 Tuesday under cloudy skies. Storms are likely as the day goes on.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch that starts at noon and will remain in effect through 8 a.m. Wednesday. That means we are looking at the possibility of some heavy rain.

Chandler got a taste of what's on the horizon weather-wise.

Storm winds snapped several trees in the area of Cooper Road and Hunt Highway. The storm also dumped some hard rain on South Chandler and Gilbert.

Today is likely to be a very active monsoon weather day across Arizona, including the Valley metro area.

Abundant moisture will bring the potential for heavy rain and flooding.

Valley showers are possible this morning and could become more widespread this afternoon and evening, possibly even continuing through tomorrow morning.

Heavy rain is the biggest threat from these storms.

Below-average temperatures are forecast today through Thursday before drier air moves in Friday, limiting storm chances and also bringing warmer temperatures for the weekend.
