PHOENIX -- It's mid-May but you might be tempted to double-check the calendar with the mild temperatures today.
After a morning spent in the mid 50s to low 60s, the Valley will warm up to only 84 degrees this afternoon, which is eight degrees below average. Look for partly sunny skies and light winds. There is a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the high country this afternoon, and an increased chance tomorrow and Friday with several more weak storm systems moving through the region.
While the rain isn't likely to come far enough south to reach the Valley, there is a slight chance of a sprinkle or two Thursday and Friday.
Temperatures in the mid 80s will continue Thursday before we warm to about 90 for Friday.
Over the weekend, the mercury will rise to the upper 90s with dry weather and abundant sunshine expected.
Triple digits are likely to start next week.
