TEMPE, Ariz. -- A man was arrested Friday after allegedly taking upskirt photos of a woman at a Tempe Target store.

Police said Target security staff observed 26-year-old Patrick Kennamer follow a woman around the Rio Salado Parkway and McClintock Drive store and take multiple photos of her while she was shopping.

Police were notified and contacted Kennamer, who reportedly admitted the crime.

The woman told police she did not know she was being followed and photographed.

Kennamer was booked into jail on suspicion of surreptitious videotaping, a class five felony.

Whether there are any other victims is under investigation.

Anyone who observes similar criminal activity is asked to contact the Tempe Police Department at 480-350-8311.

"Upskirting" has recently gained national media attention.

The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court on Wednesday ruled that a man accused of recording video under women's clothing on the Boston subway did not break any laws.

The State Legislature quickly passed a bill banning the practice and it was signed into law Friday by Gov. Deval Patrick.

Police said upskirting is illegal in Arizona.
