PHOENIX -- The kids of Kidz Bop stopped by our studios before heading over to perform at the Arizona state fair.

Kidz Bop is the the number one kids’ music brand in the U.S.  They've sold more than 14 million albums including nine Gold records and one platinum.

Seventeen of the Kidz Bop titles have debuted in the Billboard top 10.

Their versions of such pop hits as Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” and Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger” have been really popular.

On their latest release, Kidz Bop 24, the quintet does “Beauty and a Beat” by Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj, and  they have inspired sing-alongs with Pitbull's bilingual anthem “Don't Stop the Party.

Other covers include Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble,” Alicia Keys' “Girl on Fire,” and Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie."

One of the members of the group is Kiana Brown who is from right here in the Valley.

She made her national breakthrough two years ago as grand prize winner of the 2011 KIDZ Star USA contest. Now 16-year-old Kiana Brown is about to achieve a new milestone: having her first solo song, “Hey Chica,” be part of the soundtrack of a major film, The Smurfs 2, following her work as featured singer in Barbie in A Mermaid Tale 2.  Currently on tour with KIDZ BOP, Kiana will see the much-anticipated release of her debut album on RCA Records in Fall 2013.

A native of Phoenix, Kiana, affectionately known to friends as “Kiki,” is a singer and pianist who recently took up the guitar and has begun to write her own songs.

In January 2011, after performing the best rendition of Justin Bieber’s “Baby” for local judges in Tempe,  Kiana won an all-expense-paid trip to Los Angeles for herself and three friends to attend the premiere of "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never."  This experience, and her admiration for such established musical stars as Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift and Jessie J, motivated her to pursue her own dream of being a pop singer.

Kiana soon entered the KIDZ Star USA Talent Search, the largest national talent competition for youth age 15 and under, run by KIDZ BOP, the number one music brand for pre-teens in the U.S., featuring today’s most popular songs sung by kids for kids.  Kiana uploaded a stunning performance video of her singing Adele’s “Someone Like You” to the Kidzbop.com site.  Out of 45,000 contestants, Kiana received more than two million votes and was selected as one of the Top 10, which was then narrowed to four.  She was invited to New York with the other finalists to participate in a ten-part mini-series about their path to the Top 4, appearing on “The Today Show” with Kidz Star USA celebrity mentor and “American Idol” winner Kris Allen and performing her winning song, Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love,” at Dylan’s Candy Bar.

With her win, Kiana starred in the KIDZ BOP 21 music video and TV commercial, and earned a recording contract from RCA Records, which released her debut solo single, “Hey Chica,” in June 2012.  Since recording the upbeat song, a girl-power anthem about being the person you want to be, she has performed it on NBC’s “The Today Show” and on the network’s telecast of the “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” in addition to on tour nationally with Kidz Bop.

Currently a student at Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix, Kiana strives to be a good student and role model.
