PHOENIX -- A strong ridge of high pressure sitting over the Southwest continues to bring scorching temperatures to Arizona through the upcoming holiday.
Look for mostly sunny skies in the Valley today with a high this afternoon of about 111 degrees. There won't be much relief tomorrow, when the mercury is expected to rise to 110 degrees.
Monsoon thunderstorms are possible in the high country today and tomorrow, but there's only a 10 percent chance for those storms here in the Valley. There is a chance we could get some blowing dust in the Valley from outflows of nearby storms, as we have the last few days.
Overnight lows will be near 90 the next couple of mornings.
By the weekend, the ridge of high pressure shifts a bit east and our temperatures will lower a bit. Look for a high of only 105 degrees by Saturday.
Storm chances are slim over the weekend.
