PHOENIX -- Besides another round of unseasonably warm temperatures and sunshine, add gusty winds to the picture Friday afternoon across Arizona.
A dry cold front moving through the state will allow wind gusts to top 25 mph in the Valley, with gusts of 35 mph in the mountains. Expect a high of 85 degrees in Phoenix.
This front may help provide enough instability to produce ‘hit or miss’ type showers or thunderstorms in the mountains, although, there’s only a 10 percent chance of that happening.
Late Friday night, expect those gusty winds to calm with mostly clear skies and cooler overnight temperatures. Phoenix should bottom out in the low 50s early Saturday morning.
Temperatures will continue a downward trend both Saturday and Sunday afternoon as a dip in the jet stream allows slightly cooler air to filter in. Look for a Valley high of 81 Saturday and 79 Sunday. Normal temperatures in Phoenix for this time of year are 78 for a high and 55 for a low.
Gradual warming will kick off on Monday as high pressure returns to the region, allowing temperatures to rebound back into the low, and eventually, mid 80s through the rest of next week.
The forecast will stay dry.
