Robber who hit gas station employee on the head sought

TEMPE, Ariz -- Silent Witness is seeking the public's help in identifying and locating a robber who assaulted a gas station clerk.

The robbery took place just after 11:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve at the Shell gas station near University and Priest Drives

Police say the robber entered the store, pointed the gun at the employee and demanded money. As the employee walked toward the register, the robber hit the employee on the head with a gun, causing the employee to fall to the ground.

The robber grabbed the employee by his hair and pulled him back to his feet. They proceeded to the register, and the employee gave money and cigarettes to the robber.

The suspect fled the scene in a white Ford pickup truck, which had a missing tailgate.

He is described as being white or Hispanic, between 30 and 40 years old, 6 feet tall, and weighing about 230 pounds.

Silent Witness is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
