PHOENIX -- Fall begins at 1:44 Sunday morning Arizona time, ushering in the autumnal equinox. Also, we’ll be seeing something unusual; actual fall-like temperatures.
Perhaps seasonal temperatures is a better description, but a lot of time when we start fall, we are still dealing with temperatures way above normal for this time of year.
Still, we’re going to finish out this week and start the weekend with highs around 101.
But by Sunday, we’re looking for highs to drop into the upper 90s. And the really good news is that overnight temps will just start getting better and better.
Thursday’s low was 78 at the airport. Friday morning we should be in the mid-70s and by next week, some Valley locations will get morning temps in the 60s! Not bad for the first week of fall.
