PHOENIX -- It’s that time of year when we start expecting very dry conditions. So far this fall,we’ve been very dry. Temperatures are expected to stay above normal through Wednesday, when we’ll see a slight cooling trend.
From the National Weather Service discussion: A slight change is expected on Thursday, as a very weak weather disturbance that is now well off the southern California coast moves inland over the southwestern US. This disturbance is very dry. The latest satellite imagery shows no middle or high cloudiness at all with this system.
Although this disturbance does try to pull up some moisture from the south as it approaches south-central Arizona, it appears that model output is in good agreement that the only impact from this system will be an increase in cloudiness over the region on Thursday. There will be a slight chance for precipitation in extreme eastern AZ, but not in the Valley. The expected increase in cloudiness will likely cool us down a bit, but no major cool-down.
