PHOENIX (AP) -- Phoenix and Scottsdale firefighters are helping injured hikers in two separate incidents.

In Phoenix, a crew was called Sunday afternoon to Buffalo Ridge Park near 16th Street and Union Hills to help a teenage girl suffering from heat exhaustion.

After reaching the girl at the top of a mountain, rescuers slowly walked her down.

The teen was seen by paramedics but declined to go to a hospital.

Authorities say she hadn't been on a designated trail.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix and Scottsdale fire departments worked together to assist a hiker in Pinnacle Peak Park in Scottsdale.

Fire officials say the hiker had a foot injury and needed to be taken down in a big wheel rescue basket. They say the hiker is stable but will need to go to a hospital.
