PHOENIX -- Major League Baseball will open its season in the southern hemisphere for the first time ever next year.

Jason Moore of  Moore Sports in Sydney and Diamondbacks president and CEO Derrick Hall gave 3TV's Scott Pasmore the lowdown on the games Down Under.

"It's extremely exciting," Moore said.

"Our players can't wait to get there. We can't wait to get there," Hall said.

Our Diamondbacks will take on the L.A. Dodgers March 22-23, 2014, at the historic Sydney Cricket Ground. The D-backs will be the home team.

"We're looking forward to making our own Chase Field in Sydney," Hall told MLB.com's Tyler Emerick. "It should be a great series. It's always been a priority for us to expand our brand internationally."
