PHOENIX -- A cold front is moving across Arizona today, bringing cool and wet changes to the region.
Flagstaff started seeing accumulating snow during the morning hours and will likely get a total of 3 to 4 inches from this storm today, enough for Javier Soto to make his first snow angel of the season. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for that area until 5 p.m.
A Wind Advisory is in effect for much of Eastern Arizona, where several inches of snow are also likely to fall.
Thursday through the weekend, bitterly cold air settles in and highs in the mountains will be in the 20s to low 30s. There's also another storm this weekend that will bring even colder air and more snow Saturday and Sunday.
The Valley has a slight chance for seeing light rain today and under mostly cloudy skies, temperatures won't rise much higher than the low 60s. The storm clears tonight and temperatures drop to the mid 30s to mid 40s around town by tomorrow morning.
Highs are forecast to stay in the low to mid 50s starting Friday and continuing to next week. Overnight lows will drop to the upper 20s to upper 30s. The first Freeze Watch of the season has been issued for the Valley for Thursday night and Friday morning.
Another storm this weekend will keep temperatures cool and bring a slight chance of rain Saturday and Sunday, with the best chances coming Saturday night.
