PHOENIX -- After a rather chilly start to the day, Arizona is in for a pretty nice fall day ahead.
Valley neighborhoods dipped to the mid 40s this morning, but we'll see highs in the mid 70s by the afternoon under clear skies. More sunshine and a warming trend is on tape for the rest of the week ahead and the weekend. We'll be in the mid 80s by the weekend and no rain is in the forecast for the next seven days.
High pressure building over the west is responsible for the warming trend in the forecast, but it's also to blame for today's winds. The strong pressure gradient will lead to Santa Ana winds in Southern California and breezy conditions in Arizona.
The Valley can expect winds out of the north and northeast today between 10 and 20 miles an hour. Winds will stay breezy tomorrow before easing up a bit for the weekend.
