PHOENIX -- The second annual Shop With a Cop event took place on Tuesday morning at the Target store in Chris-Town.

Phoenix Police Officers and members of the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association (PLEA) donated their time and money in an effort to make a positive difference in the lives of Phoenix youth. In this year's Phoenix Police Officer's/Phoenix Law Enforcement Association "Shop With A Cop" event, officers took more than 30 Phoenix children from all over the city shopping for Christmas. The children were selected by Phoenix Police Community Action officers, School Resource Officers, or other Phoenix Police Patrol Officers.

"Phoenix Police Officers see so much throughout the year with children who are less fortunate or not in the best of circumstances," PLEA President Joe Clure said. "This is yet another opportunity Phoenix Police Officers take to give back to their community while helping to form a positive police image for our kids and let them know that we care."

Santa Claus, decked out in blue to honor the police officers, was on hand to meet the kids and their shopping buddies.
