PHOENIX -- Police have released surveillance video of a man who has robbed two pharmacies five times in the past two months, and they're asking for your help finding him.

"This person could become much more dangerous," said Sgt. Darren Burch of Silent Witness.

The suspect first hit a Central Phoenix Safeway on Eighth Street and Glendale Avenue two days after Christmas.

Surveillance video showed him simulating a weapon and then handing over a note demanding oxycodone, a generic of OxyContin, is a narcotic pain-reliever that is similar to morphine.

The suspect has since hit that store a second time.

It's pretty much the same story at the Albertson's at 19th and Northern avenues. The suspect has robbed that location three times. And he's gotten more brazen.

"He goes in. This time he has a gun and he's more vocal, more confident," Burch said. "He demands oxycodone and he runs out."

The most recent robbery was Feb. 17. The two stores are a little more than three miles apart.

At this point, investigators have no information about a getaway vehicle. And while the video is not very clear, they have a good profile of the suspect, who has hit on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, each time between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

"He may be doing this crime when he's getting off work, before he goes home," Burch explained. "This is not a good window for criminals to hit. This is a very active time from where you have lots of witnesses, the potential for police officers being in the building. This is very risky behavior for a criminal."

The short time frame suggests the suspect might be worried about his home situation, Burch continued.

"He may have a wife or a girlfriend or somebody there who doesn't know he's doing this kind of activity and he possibly has an addition to oxycodone," he said.

The suspect is a white male between 25 and 30 years old. He is 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, and weighs between 160 and 180 pounds. He was a wearing a dark pullover hoodie, blue jeans and black sunglasses.
