Suspect with gun, knife robs man at Phoenix ATM

PHOENIX -- Police have released surveillance video and photos of an armed robbery suspect and are asking for the public's help to identify him.

Police said the suspect approached a man as he was withdrawing money from an ATM machine at 44th Street and Thomas Road in Phoenix at approximately 6:40 p.m. on Dec. 31.

The suspect lifted up his sweatshirt to reveal a handgun and a knife then took money from the victim's bank account, according to Silent Witness coordinator Sgt. Darren Burch. He then fled the area on foot.

The victim was not injured and no vehicle was seen.

The suspect is described as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 165 pounds with pierced ears. He was wearing a white beanie cap, a dark hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans at the time of the crime.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or silentwitness.org.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered in the case.
