PHOENIX -- Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a Bashas' grocery store in central Phoenix earlier this month.

Police have released surveillance video and photos and are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the robber's arrest.

About 8 p.m. March 13, a man walked into the store at Seventh Avenue and Osborn Road with his face covered and pointed a gun at a cashier while demanding money.

He also pointed the handgun at other employees, including a security guard, and customers.

He obtained money and ran out of the store in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a 20- to 30-year-old Hispanic or Native American man. He is between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall and has a thin build, facial hair, "scraggly" teeth, and spotty pigmentation on his face and hands. He was wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or toll free at 1-800-343-TIPS.

Tips can also be left anonymously online at www.silentwitness.org.
