PHOENIX -- A reward is being offered to help identify the suspect involved in an armed robbery at a Food City store on Central Avenue just north of Baseline Road in Phoenix.

According to police, the suspect was wearing a Food City shirt pretending to be an employee when he entered the store just after 5 a.m. on Feb. 6.

The suspect went to the cash room, pointed a handgun at two employees and demanded money. He then fled the store with a large quantity of money.

Police said a witness in the parking lot saw a white four-door car leave the parking lot at a high rate of speed, but no one saw the suspect get into the vehicle.

A photo and surveillance video of the suspect were released on Friday.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 to 180 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a black beanie cap and a white Food City shirt at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS, 1-800-343-TIPS or silentwitness.org. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered in the case.
