PHOENIX -- A light rail train hit a car with two elderly people inside at 34th and Washington streets Wednesday morning.

According to Phoenix Fire Capt. Dorian Jackson, a driver making a turn was hit by a light rail train, causing the car to spin around once.

The 95-year-old driver was transported to a hospital as a precaution.  No one else was injured.

Jackson said there were some scratches to the front of the train and the rear of the car was damaged.

Police are investigating the accident.
