Armed suspect demands lottery tickets from Circle K clerk

PHOENIX -- Police are asking for information about a suspect involved in an attempted armed robbery at a Circle K in Phoenix.

The suspect entered the store on 27th Avenue north of Camelback Road at approximately 5 a.m. on July 23.

Police said he pointed a black handgun at the clerk and demanded lottery tickets. The clerk walked over and activated the silent alarm. The suspect then left northbound on foot without obtaining any lottery tickets or merchandise.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 5 inches tall, 140 to 150 pounds, with many tattoos on his neck and arms. He was wearing a black T-shirt with a design on the front and light-colored shorts.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS, 1-800-343-TIPS or silentwitness.org. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered in the case.
