HOLBROOK, Ariz. -- A rodeo star from Navajo County is facing criminal charges for allegedly committing multiple burglaries in the last several months.

The Navajo County Sheriff's Office said Cody Hancock, 37, was arrested on Wednesday for stealing items like fencing T-posts and a large generator.

Hancock’s alleged criminal activity began in May of 2012 when deputies with the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office began receiving reports of burglaries at area homes.

On Feb. 16, deputies came across fencing T-posts that they recognized as belonging to one of the burglary victims. Further investigation revealed that the T-posts had been sold by Hancock.

On Wednesday, deputies conducted a search of Hancock’s Taylor home and found several fencing T-posts, a Polaris Ranger, and other pieces of evidence.

Hancock, who has earned more than $800,000 during his career, was arrested and booked into the Navajo County Jail on charges such as burglary, theft, and trafficking in stolen property.

"It is through the hard work of the deputies in the area, which allowed this subject to be brought to justice," said Sheriff Kelly Clark.

The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have purchased fencing related materials from Hancock within the last ten months to contact them at 928-532-6060 or 928-524-4050.
