PHOENIX -- A storm system brewing in the Pacific is about to move into Arizona, ushering in the start of a stretch of unsettled weather.

Rainfall totals in the Valley Thursday were around 0.02 inch, but we expect to add quite a bit to the storm total tonight and tomorrow.

The storm was bringing rain to San Diego Friday morning and cloud cover to Arizona. The rain is expected to move into Western and Northern Arizona throughout the day and into the Valley tonight, lasting into Saturday.

Look for Saturday to be rainy and cool, with highs in the mid 60s. There's a chance that the rain could linger into Sunday, when temperatures are also expected to linger in the 60s. We could see between a 0.5 and 1 inch of rain in the Valley, and upwards of 2 inches in parts of the high country.  Not much snow is expected to fall, as snow levels should be fairly high, near 8,000 feet.

Snow is expected to start falling with a seperate storm system that moves in Monday and Tuesday.  That storm will also bring new rain chances to the Valley for the first half of next week, along with much cooler temperatures.  Look for highs in the low 60s and overnight lows in the 30s and 40s.

At this point, sunshine and a warm-up looks likely for the second half of next week.
