PHOENIX -- A rather zonal pattern is setting up in the upper atmosphere over Arizona. The result will be a very quiet weather pattern with temperatures above normal for this time of year. That stable pattern looks like it’s going to hold right through next weekend, bringing lots of sunshine for Thanksgiving statewide.

We will, on occasion, see some high clouds pass overhead. Most of that will be in southern Arizona and related to a bit of moisture out of the sub-tropics. And we could see a few light rain showers Wednesday afternoon in extreme eastern Arizona. But other than that, it will stay dry.

Afternoon temperatures in the Valley will stay right around 80 degrees through Saturday and then start to taper off a bit next week. Still, we are not seeing any indications of a major weather shift that could bring us some rain and snow.
