PHOENIX -- The new week will get off to a hot start with a forecast high Monday afternoon of 108 degrees. The average high for today's date is 105 degrees.
Overnight lows will be a bit above average this week, too, in the low 80s.
High pressure continues to be our dominant weather feature this week. Clear skies and light winds are expected throughout the week ahead, with Valley highs between 106 and 108 all the way through the weekend.
Winds will pick up Wednesday and Thursday in the high country for dangerous fire conditions.
By the weekend, we may see enough monsoon moisture sneak into the state to produce storms in the high country. They are not expected to make it to the deserts of the state and the Valley will stay dry.
