PHOENIX -- Valley temperatures started off just a tad warmer Wednesday morning, in the upper 30s to low 40s. This afternoon, look for highs in the upper 60s for a second day in a row, with plenty of sunshine. Clear skies again tonight will lead to overnight lows in the 40s.
Arizona is in between high pressure building to our west and the large low-pressure system bringing snow, rain and high winds to much of the eastern half of the U.S. As that storm system moves further east, the ridge of high pressure will spread east toward Arizona.
The axis of the ridge will be centered over Arizona on Saturday, bringing our warmest temperatures of the year so far on Saturday and Sunday.
Expect low 80s and abundant sunshine this weekend, perfect weather for those spring training games and the NASCAR race being held in the Valley Sunday.
