PHOENIX -- Mother Nature is keeping Arizona on the cooler-side this weekend.

In Phoenix, a normal afternoon high for this time of year is 72, but we’re not expected to escape the mid and low 60s until Tuesday.

Meanwhile, high pressure will keep the state with mostly sunny skies and very dry conditions Saturday before a weather-maker approaches the area from the west Saturday night. This trough will give northern Arizona a chance of snow showers through Sunday morning, albeit, we’re expecting little to no accumulation.

While no rain is expected in the Valley from this system, we are anticipating a very windy Sunday. Wind gusts could reach 25 to 30 miles per hour.

After Sunday, we’re expecting some relatively mundane weather. Clear skies will be the rule throughout all next week, with occasional cirrus clouds streaming in from time to time.

With Valley highs in the mid 60s on Monday, the 70s will make a comeback on Tuesday and hang around for the rest of the week. Overnight lows in the valley will be in the 40s.
