Teens shot in Glendale; police looking for suspect

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Two teens are in the hospital after being shot at a Walmart parking lot near 75th Avenue and Glendale early Sunday morning

Police said a group of teens were at a nearby hookah lounge when a verbal altercation occurred.

The dispute moved into the parking lot, which is when people involved in the altercation pulled out firearms and fired shots.

A young adult male was hit by gunfire, while a juvenile female and a young adult female not involved in the altercation were struck by stray gunfire.

The suspect fled the scene.

The adult female who was shot was taken by friends to a hospital. She was treated for a minor injury and released.

Officers arrived to find the young adult male and the juvenile female suffering from gunshot wounds to the body.

They were treated at the scene and then taken to local hospitals. Their injuries aren't life-threatening.

Police is asking anyone with any information about the shooting to call Glendale police at 623-930-3000 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
