PHOENIX -- It seems more and more people are turning to alternative medicine to cure what ails them.

This includes anything from herbal remedies, to acupuncture, even reflexology, which is also known as foot therapy.

This week many Valley residents had the unique opportunity to be treated by some of the best alternative medicine experts in the country.

Eric Huffman is one of them. He trained under the guidance of someone known as the “Dalai Lama of Japan” and had run his own practice in Chicago for the past eight years.

He says, in a nutshell, reflexology is the art of finding the points on the feet that connect to all areas of the body. All of those areas can be treated through those points.

Everything from sinus problems and migraines, to more serious issues like infertility. Eric says it all has to do with something called the Chee meridian system.

“If the Chee is stuck and things aren’t moving, then everything gets very tight and if it’s tight, when I press it you go, ‘whoa,’” he said.

That tightness is why we start to feel sick, and tired. But once he releases the Chee, we begin to heal.

“When you free up the Chee flow and you free up the energy meridians in your body, then the physical body immediately improves,” he said.

He understands that a lot of people are skeptical of the practice and encourages them to try it before making a final decision. You just might like it.
