PHOENIX -- A cold front moving into northern Arizona is producing rather windy conditions in the northern half of our state. Peak wind gusts have been running just shy of 50 mph in the high country. In the Valley, peak winds have gotten into the low 30-mph range.
Cooler air will be making its way into Arizona the next couple of days. We expect no more triple-digit highs through the weekend. And by early next week, we may even see temperatures in the 80s. Not bad for the first week of May.
No rain is forecast for the state. The storm dropping the cold front into Arizona is producing rain and snow in Utah and Colorado, but that moisture is not expected to make it into our state.
