PHOENIX -- The good news is that while we had a quick start to the monsoon in 2011, we're having an even better start, as far as rain is concerned, in 2012.
Last year to this point, we'd had .58 inches of rain at Sky Harbor International Airport. This year, so far, we've had .77 inches of monsoon rain.
Last year, we continued the month of July wet, ending up with 1.41 inches in 2011. So hopefully that trend will continue.
However, last year, after July, the monsoon well dried up rather dramatically. In August and September 2011, we had only two days with measureable rain.
At this point, showers are not in the forecast for Phoenix until the weekend.
