PHOENIX -- Thursday night’s cold front resulted in much cooler temperatures in metro Phoenix Friday afternoon.

The high Friday was 76 degrees. That’s the coolest it's been in nearly six months. You have to go back to April 15, when we had a high of 74.

Temperatures will warm a bit through the weekend. Valley highs on Saturday will be in the low 80s. By Sunday, we’re looking at afternoon temperatures in the upper 80s.

Next week will feature unseasonably warm weather with highs in the low to mid 90s. But it will be dry.

Speaking of dry, Sky Harbor Airport only received a trace of rain from the overnight showers and thunderstorms. Some areas of town got as much as a third of an inch, but for most neighborhoods the rainfall numbers were not very impressive.

Still, it was a rather early winter-type storm for us. Some years, we don’t seen that kind of activity until November.
