SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Kid's Closet Connection is a local, semi-annual children's sale that connects people who want to sell their gently-used children's items to those who want to purchase quality kid's items, including clothing, toys, baby gear, books, play equipment -- anything and everything kid related -- at a fraction of retail prices.

Here is how it all works: Valley moms first sign up to sell at one of the three area Kid's Closet Connection events.  They then price their items at home and drop them off on a designated drop-off time.  The next day, the sale opens to the public and area families have the opportunity to shop among the tens of thousands of items -- all at 60 percent to 90 percent off retail.  Each event runs for only two or three days.

"This is our eighth season conducting Kid's Closet events in the Valley and the growth in support and participation has been phenomenal," event organizer Ken Leathers said.  "We have three sales events this season, conveniently located throughout the Valley."

The upcoming spring events are Feb. 13-14 in Scottsdale, March 6-7 in northwest Glendale and April 10-12 in Chandler.

If you're a fan of The Savvy Sale, which has been a premiere consignment event for familes for years, you'll be thrilled to know that is has merged with Kid's Closet Connection.

"The organizers of that sale decided that they're ready to retire," Leathers said. "We got together, and we're all coming together again for the big sale in Chandler."

The Chandler is expected to be about twice the size of the Scottsdale event, which features some 25,000 items.
