TEMPE, Ariz. -- ASU Sun Devils are used to hot temperatures at the start of football season, but Thursday's temperatures were more excessive than most.
Still it didn't keep fans away from game day.
Sal Lopez and his friends were out tailgating in the heat of the day.
"We got here about 4, 4:30pm, so it was pretty hot, but we're Devils fans, that's how it should be."
Kim Kauffman was taking in the game with her 2-year-old daughter.
"We're season ticket holders so we come every year. I wish I could say in the rain snow and sleet, but it's mostly heat!"
Some fans who were ready to get out of the heat left at halftime, but others left early due to the Sun Devils strong lead.
