SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Former Phoenix Suns player Tom Chambers was arrested Saturday in North Scottsdale on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Chambers, who is now an announcer for the team, was arrested at Scottsdale Road and Pinnacle Vista Drive, following the Pac-12 championship football game, Scottsdale police said.
According to police, Chambers was swerving and weaving his truck in a bike line.
He also allegedly had two open bottles of beer in the truck.
It is unclear what the arrest will mean for Chambers' career. He was on-air Tuesday night broadcasting the Suns game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The four-time NBA all-star began hosting pre- and post-game shows more than a decade ago.
"I take my role as a representative with the Suns very seriously and have always held myself to a high standard," Chambers said in a statement. "I want to apologize to the Phoenix Suns and its fans for the negative attention this incident has brought upon the organization."
Phoenix Suns President Jason Rowley said the organization is aware of the report and considers driving under the influence a serious matter, but he declined to comment further due to the ongoing legal process.
