PHOENIX -- It’s been a pretty clear pattern this week. With an area of low pressure parked over the desert southwest, we’ve seen consecutive days with isolated showers and thunderstorms in northern and eastern Arizona.

Today those storms are a little closer to the Valley and we’re seeing some clouds around, but it’s unlikely any of that precipitation will make it into metro Phoenix proper.

Right now, our 3TV 360 Network is showing some light showers around the Globe-Miami area, east of Phoenix, and some virga (rain that evaporates before it hits the ground) north of Anthem.

As some of the outflow boundaries seep into the lower elevations, we could see some localized breezes during the evening hours, but even in the high country these storms are producing minimal amounts of rain for the most part.

The weekend trends warmer. Expect highs in the mid-to-upper 90s Saturday and Sunday.

Early next week, we’ll be back to the triple digits, no big surprise this time of year.
