PHOENIX -- Vandals have left a trail of shattered glass in neighborhoods across Ahwatukee.

Since the beginning of February, Phoenix police say there have been about 50 cases of broken windows.  Detectives believe the suspects are using pellet, BB guns or even rocks to do the damage.  They've targeted both car and residential windows.

"It could really have hurt someone," said homeowner Renee Bau who told 3TV she was nearly hit by a rock the size of softball hurled through her living room on Valentine's Day.

"I just heard this loud boom," she described.  "There was just glass everywhere. It was just a nightmare."

Still shaken days later, Bau said she wants answers and arrest.

"I don't think these people are thinking of the consequences of what could have happened.  This is just a violent act."

Investigators believe the same suspects are responsible for at least 50 incidents in the past two weeks alone. Police estimate the damage to total around $40,000 among all the victims.

"I hope them catch them," said Gaylan Davies, who had two of his cars hit.  "I can't figure out who would do that, they must have a poor upbringing."

Although information about the suspects themselves has been vague, the same vehicle description is continually being given to officers.

The vehicle is described as a newer Ford Focus or Chevy Malibu, silver or grey in color. Witnesses tell police the vehicle has tinted windows and a black stripe down both sides.

The suspects have been described as juvenile males, and many of the incidents have occurred around juvenile related parties.

Anyone with information is ask to call Silent Witness at 480 WITNESS,. A reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
