FLAGSTAFF -- State health officials say an Arizona State Hospital patient has been missing since Saturday, and they are working with law enforcement agencies to find him.
According to the Arizona Department of Health Services, staff discovered that 40-year-old Jorge Murillo was missing at about 11 p.m. Saturday.
Department spokeswoman Laura Oxley says Murillo arrived at the hospital in Phoenix Oct. 11 after completing a sentence in the state prison system. The department says Murillo was convicted of sexual assault in Maricopa County for a crime committed in 1999.
Oxley says Murillo escaped before hospital staff could conclude an evaluation that the county attorney had requested to ensure he was no longer a threat to society.
