Weekend freeway construction affects I-10

Before you head out this weekend, make a note of these weekend freeway construction projects from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT):

*Eastbound Interstate 10 in West Valley narrowed to two lanes between Dysart Road and 91st Avenue from 11 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 28) for overhead sign replacement. DETOUR: Merge carefully and obey posted work-zone speed limits.

*Eastbound Interstate 10 in West Valley narrowed to two lanes between 91st and 67th avenues from 11 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 29) for overhead sign replacement. DETOUR: Merge carefully and obey posted work-zone speed limits.

*Interstate 10 ramps to north- and southbound State Route 143/48th Street closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 28) for Southwest Gas utility work. DETOUR: Use 40th Street. For Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport access consider using the airport west entrance at 24th Street, or 40th Street to University Drive to 44th Street.

* University Drive narrowed to one lane in each direction at State Route 143 from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 28) for asphalt repair. No access to eastbound University Drive from SR 143. DETOUR: Consider using Sky Harbor Boulevard to Priest Drive.
