Weekend construction affects airport traffic, West Valley

PHOENIX -- Before you head out this weekend, make a note of these weekend construction projects from the Arizona Department of Transporatation (ADOT), so you can avoid the traffic tie-ups.

*Eastbound Sky Harbor Boulevard closed nightly between 44th Street and State Route 143 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Jan. 16) for ramp construction. Detour: Use 44th Street.

*Westbound Sky Harbor Boulevard closed between Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) and 44th Street from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 14) for ramp construction. Detour: Use westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) to 44th Street.

*Westbound Sky Harbor Boulevard ramp to southbound SR 143 closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 14) for ramp construction. Detour: Use westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) to 44th Street.

*Northbound SR 143 ramp to westbound Sky Harbor Boulevard closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 14) for ramp construction. Detour: Use westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) to 44th Street.

*Southbound SR 143 narrowed to two lanes between Washington Street and University Drive from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 14) for ramp construction. DETOUR: Obey posted speed limits and drive carefully in the work zone.

*Cotton Lane (Loop 303) in the West Valley closed intermittently in both directions at McDowell Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 14) for APS utility work. DETOUR: Drivers could experience delays of up to 15 minutes.
