Before you head out this weekend, make a note of the following weekend freeway construction projects. That way you can avoid the traffic headaches.
*Eastbound Interstate 10 (toward Tucson) narrowed to one lane between Chandler Boulevard and Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) from 10 p.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 21) for HOV lane bridge project. I-10 ramps to and from Loop 202 will remain open, but alternate routes recommended. Eastbound I-10 on-ramp at Ray Road closed. Other ramps in area closed as needed. DETOUR: Due to anticipated heavy backups, drivers can use eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) or eastbound U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway) to southbound Loop 101 and westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) to connect with I-10 beyond work zone. Other alternate routes to I-10 from Chandler area include southbound Price Road to westbound Queen Creek Road or southbound Arizona Avenue to southbound State Route 587.
*Loop 303 closed in both directions between Bell Road and Peoria Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Nov. 22) for construction work. DETOUR: Traffic will be directed to Reems Road.
*Westbound Interstate 10 ramp to southbound State Route 85 closed and northbound SR 85 ramp to westbound I-10 closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Nov. 22) for resurfacing. DETOUR: Westbound I-10 traffic can use southbound Miller Road and westbound Broadway Road to reach SR 85. Northbound SR 85 traffic can use westbound Southern Avenue and northbound Palo Verde Road to connect with westbound I-10.
