PHOENIX -- Before you head out this weekend, make of note of these weekend freeway construction projects.  The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) says the Loop 303 will be shut down for the weekend for work in the far West Valley:

Loop 303 closed in both directions between Waddell and Bell roads from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Dec. 12) for work to open a construction bypass at the Greenway Road intersection. Greenway Road also closed in both directions between Cotton Lane and Sarival Road, but access to local businesses and homes will be maintained. Detour: Use Reems Road for north-south travel and Waddell or Bell roads for east-west travel.

Southbound State Route 143 closed between McDowell Road and University Drive near Sky Harbor Airport from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 10) for new ramp construction. Ramps to southbound SR 143 from eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) and from westbound Sky Harbor Boulevard closed. Detour: Consider using 44th Street to access the airport and to reach the University Drive connection to SR 143.

Eastbound Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane between Perryville Road and Sarival Avenue in the West Valley from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 8:30 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 10) for work to shift lanes in advance of Loop 303/I-10 interchange construction. Westbound I-10 narrowed to one lane between Sarival Avenue and Perryville Road from 10 p.m. Saturday to 8:30 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 11) for additional lane striping work. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time.

Eastbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) right lane and eastbound on-ramp at 51st Avenue closed from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 11) for sound wall construction project. Westbound Loop 101 right lane and westbound off-ramp at Seventh Street also closed during same hours. DETOURS: Eastbound drivers can use 35th Avenue on-ramp and westbound drivers can use Seventh Street off-ramp.
