SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- North Scottsdale will be filled with runners raising money for a good cause this weekend and it means several road closures. The “Run for Ryan House” will wind through the beautiful DC Ranch area. The mission of Ryan House is to provide essential care in a home-like setting where children with life-threatening conditions and their families may come for respite and, as needed, end of life care.
Approximately 600 runners will be participating in the half marathon on Saturday, March 5. Curb and/or bicycle lanes will be restricted from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the following streets:
**Start on Market Street at DC Ranch
**South on Pima Road
**East on Legacy Boulevard
**South on Thompson Peak Parkway
**East on Bell Road through McDowell Mountain Loop
**North on Thompson Peak Parkway
**South on Desert Camp Drive
**West on 90th Place to finish on Market Street at DC Ranch
Here’s the schedule of events and start times:
Half Marathon -- 7 a.m.
10K Run -- 7:25 a.m.
5K Run/Walk -- 7:30 a.m.
1-Mile Family Fun Run -- 8:30 a.m.
Race Expo -- 8 a.m.-11 a.m.
Last year, the Run for Ryan House registered almost 1,400 participants in the combined events. With a new 10K course, there should be many more runners and walkers. According to the Ryan House website, 100 percent of all sponsorship and fundraising dollars raised go directly to Ryan House.
