PHOENIX -- The Arizona Department of Transportation is warning drivers to expect delays on eastbound Interstate 10 this weekend.
Drivers will encounter major delays when eastbound I-10 (to Tucson) is narrowed to one lane near Chandler Boulevard from 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, through 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21. Crews are preparing a work zone to build direct HOV ramps to and from Loop 202 (Santan Freeway).
The southbound on-ramp at Ray Road will be closed throughout the weekend.
The southbound on-ramp at Chandler Boulevard will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday.
Ramps to Loop 202 will remain open.
Motorists traveling in and through the Phoenix metro area should consider Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) and U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway) to southbound Loop 101, and westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) to I-10.
