PHOENIX -- Weekend freeway improvement work will require mostly overnight restrictions along Interstate 10 as well as Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) in Phoenix and Tempe. The Arizona Department of Transportation is encouraging drivers to use caution and allow extra travel time while the following lane restrictions and ramp closures are in place this weekend:
Interstate 10 narrowed to two lanes in both directions overnight between Loop 101 and Dysart Road from 11 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday. DETOUR: Please slow down and merge safely in the work zone.
Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) narrowed to three lanes overnight between Scottsdale Road and Priest Drive from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 12), 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 13) and from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Dec. 14) for freeway widening. DETOUR: Please slow down and merge safely in the work zone.
Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) narrowed to two lanes overnight between 32nd and 44th streets from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 13) for freeway widening. DETOUR: Please slow down and merge safely in work zone.
32nd Street closed in both directions at Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Dec. 14) for freeway widening. Eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp at 44th Street also closed. DETOUR: Use 24th or 40th streets as alternate routes.
Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) narrowed to two lanes overnight between Priest Drive and 52nd Street from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Dec. 13) for freeway widening. Eastbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Priest Drive also closed. Eastbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) on-ramp at Rural Road and off-ramp at McClintock Drive closed from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Dec. 14) for freeway widening. DETOUR: Use ramps at adjacent interchanges.
