Weekend freeway closures throughout Valley

VALLEYWIDE -- Before you head out this weekend, make a note of these weekend construction projects from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).  These closures and restrictions will affect freeways throughout the Valley:

*Eastbound Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane overnight between Perryville Road and Cotton Lane from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Saturday (August 25) and from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (August 26). DETOUR: Drivers should allow extra travel time and be prepared to merge safely in overnight work zone. 

*Westbound Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane between Cotton Lane and Perryville Road from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (August 26). Westbound I-10 on-and off-ramps at Cotton Lane closed. DETOUR: Consider using westbound on-ramp at Jackrabbit Trail and westbound off-ramp at Sarival Avenue.

*Loop 101 (Aqua Fria Freeway) U-turn bridge and northbound on-ramp at Union Hills Drive closed from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday (August 25) for road maintenance. Northbound Loop 101 narrowed to three lanes at Union Hills Drive. DETOUR: Use other local streets to access Loop 101.

*Southbound Interstate 17 off-ramp and frontage road closed overnight at Thunderbird Road from 11 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday (August 26) for road maintenance. DETOUR: Please use nearby exit ramps and allow extra travel time.

*Southbound Loop 303 closed between Indian School Road and McDowell Road from 11 p.m. Sunday to 3 a.m. Monday (August 27). DETOUR: Drivers can use Citrus Road.

*Northbound State Route 87 narrowed to one lane overnight between Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) and Gilbert Road from 7 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday (August 27) for pavement improvements. DETOUR: Be prepared to merge safely in work zone.
