Weekend construction means closures on I-10

PHOENIX -- Before you head out this weekend, make a note of these freeway construction projects from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), so you can avoid the traffic tie-ups.

*Westbound I-10 ramp to northbound I-17 closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (April 2) for guardrail installation. DETOUR: Drivers can use 27th Avenue to McDowell Road to access northbound I-17.

*Northbound I-17 narrowed to three lanes between Thunderbird and Greenway roads from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (April 2) for guardrail installation. Northbound I-17 on-ramp at Union Hills Drive also closed. DETOUR: Drivers can use on-ramp at Bell Road.

*Westbound I-10 on-ramp at Cotton Lane closed overnight from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (April 2) for construction of the I-10/Loop 303 interchange in Goodyear. Southbound Cotton Lane narrowed to one lane between McDowell Road and I-10. DETOUR: Drivers can access westbound I-10 at Jackrabbit Trail.

Note: These restrictions continue nightly through Friday (April 6).

*Eastbound I-10 ramp to eastbound Sky Harbor Boulevard closed overnight from 10 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday (April 2) for sign installation at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. DETOUR: For airport access, use Jefferson Street to southbound 24th Street and enter west end of airport via Buckeye Road.
