KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) -- Motorists traveling along U.S. 93 south of Hoover Dam on Wednesday and Thursday will need to allow extra travel time or plan an alternate route because of highway widening work.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said that blasting and cleanup work will be taking place about three miles south of Hoover Dam on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Drivers should expect delays of up to an hour.

Motorists traveling on non-blasting days can expect 30-minute delays due to reduced speed limits, flagging stations, and no passing zones.

Alternate routes should be considered Wednesday and Thursday.
